Hey!
My name is Waheeda and I am a Muslim British Bengali animator and artist, who specialises in character design, 2D animation, and storytelling.
My body of work shares key factors such as my love for all things animated, my journey to embrace my cultural heritage, and showcasing diversity/multiculturalism as someone born and brought up in Birmingham, UK.
I’ve studied a 'BA (Hons) - Visual Communication: Animation and Moving Image’ degree and since 2014 my skill set has led me to pursue a range of creative job roles such as creative director, 2D animator, storyboard artist, visual development artist, painter, illustrator, art peer mentor, camera operator, and video editor.
I’m also a co-founder and co-creator of a duo animation studio called THE TREEHOUSE where my husband and I create mixed media animations and VFX videos. I have produced work formatted for TV series and ads, BFI-funded / Vimeo staff-picked short films as well as promotional content for video games.
In addition to the above experience, my work has been exhibited at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and across the UK. I’ve also worked with clients like Nat Geo, Warner Bros, West Midlands Police Department, The Perfume Shop, and Mark's Electrical.
